JOSEPH & THE
AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s timeless classic – a dazzling journey of dreams, destiny and technicolor magic!

SHOW
OVERVIEW

In May 2023, York Musical Theatre Company had the pleasure of presenting Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre. Our performances ran from Wednesday May 24th to Saturday May 27th 2023.

One of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s most beloved musicals, Joseph tells the biblical story of Joseph, son of Jacob, whose gift of interpreting dreams leads him on an extraordinary journey—from being betrayed and sold into slavery by his jealous brothers to rising as Pharaoh’s trusted advisor. Featuring iconic songs such as “Any Dream Will Do,” “Close Every Door,” and “Go, Go, Joseph,” our production was a vibrant celebration of music, storytelling, and dazzling theatrical spectacle.

Under the expert direction and choreography of Kathryn Addison plus musical direction by John Atkin, we worked tirelessly to create a visually stunning and musically powerful production. From the infectious energy of the children’s choir to the electrifying performances of our talented lead cast, every moment was designed to transport audiences into Joseph’s extraordinary world.

One reviewer described our production as “a technicolor triumph, bursting with fun, charm, and knockout performances”, while audience members praised the cast’s enthusiasm and the show’s uplifting spirit.
