We are excited to invite you to a special afternoon as we kick off our journey toward the much-anticipated 2026 production of Calendar Girls: The Musical.

Get to know the talented team behind the production! Our Director, Kathryn Addison, and Musical Director, John Atkin, will be there to introduce themselves and share their vision for the show. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and gain insight into how we’ll bring this extraordinary story to life.

This is an unmissable evening for anyone with an interest in theatre, whether you’re looking to audition, volunteer, or simply support the show.

Join York Musical Theatre Company for a heartwarming afternoon of friendship, laughter, and cake as we launch our upcoming production, Calendar Girls: The Musical, with a special WI-themed Summer Social!

This is your chance to:
🌼 Meet the company – whether you’re new, curious, or returning
👯 Reconnect with old friends and make some new ones
☕ Soak up the sunshine in true Yorkshire WI style
🎭 Get a feel for the spirit of Calendar Girls: The Musical

The Social Committee has organised a mini fete in the spirit of the WI to be held in the garden area to the rear of the Poppleton New Hall (weather permitting). There will be cake stalls, a tombola and plenty of bunting! There will also be a prize for the best homemade Victoria Sponge with guest judges!

Refreshments will be available on the day.

Once you’ve received the audition pack, please complete the necessary forms, including any information about your previous experience (if applicable).

AUDITION PROCESS
After we have reviewed your audition pack, you will be emailed a scheduled date and time for your face to face audition. Auditions will be held at Poppleton Church Hall, The Green, Upper Poppleton, YO26 6DP.

THE VOICE OF OUR MEMBERS

“I joined the York Musical Theatre Company in 2015 and had the opportunity to sing at The Barbican York during the Festival of Remembrance and I decided to stay on and perform in the Christmas concerts.  I went on to audition for Happy & Glorious, a production celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. Some of my favourite shows I’ve had the privilege to perform in include Acorn Antiques in 2016 and Jesus Christ Superstar. In more recent years, I’ve also helped backstage with costumes for productions like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Wizard of Oz. I’m an active member of the York Musical Theatre Company choir and am very much looking forward to performing with them this Christmas.”
